Our Story
Hey everyone, It's Hsinyu. I’ve been designing and creating custom jewelry, sharing my work at craft shows and holiday pop-ups, also collaborating with local jewelry businesses and fashion boutiques on creative projects that keep me inspired.
In addition to my work as a jewelry artist, I am also an educator and class author. I love sharing my knowledge with newcomers in the field. I was teaching and authoring online classes at the Academy of Art University.
Back in 2017, I opened JC Art & Design, a little jewelry workshop tucked away in San Francisco’s Mission District, where I spent a year and a half honing my craft and building a space that felt like home to my ideas. My inspiration comes from many places—whether I’m immersing myself in a garden, exploring a museum, or admiring stunning architecture. The places I travel to continuously influence my work, fueling my creativity. As I never stop exploring, I never stop creating and making jewelry. Along the way, I also earned my Jewelry Design and Technology certificate and became a Graduate Gemologist from the Gemological Institute of America.
For me, creating jewelry is more than just making beautiful pieces—it’s about pouring my vibrant creativity and passion into every design, finding that perfect balance between art and craftsmanship. If you’d like to connect or chat about jewelry, you can always reach me!
Japanese Samurai Knots
Inspired by the ancient Japanese technique of Kumihimo, which celebrates the intricacies of silk thread weaving, I've translated these captivating patterns into metal motifs reminiscent of insects and flowers, inspired by the imperfect perfection found in nature. Just as Samurai utilized Kumihimo in their armors and swords, showcasing the beauty of intricate knotting technique and design, incorporating arts and design into their daily life.
