Jewelry Design/ Hand Rendering
It all started when…
I found my inspiration in the Art Nouveau period. In particular, Alphonse Mucha’s distinctive painting style; his use of flowing lines and female figures, influenced by natural environments. In addition to the exotic theme, I played with the idea of exaggerating parts of the cranes, plum flowers and human forms. My necklace not only demonstrates a transition from old to new arts, it also weaves between western and eastern cultures. I chose a parti-color tourmaline as my center gemstone with subtle color transitions of plique-a-jour enamel on the wings while continuing and extending the rich joy of watermelon tourmaline. The white jade of the goddess faces represents the purity, innocence and strength of indomitable female spirit.
